Frequent Q&A

What is the difference between Meditative Movement and yoga or tai chi?
The movements in Meditative Movement will be familiar to anyone who has practiced the Eastern ancient moving arts. Like tai chi, the movements are flowing. Like yoga, they are focused and meditative. The most discernible difference is that Meditative Movement is not a form of exercise for the body – it is a type of exercise for the soul. The movements are a connecting force that links body, soul and spirit. It has the best of the ancient martial arts with the contemporary insight and knowledge that the Divine Light of the world is available as a strengthening and healing force. The result is a uniquely well rounded and comprehensive holistic movement form that harmonizes the physical, spiritual and soul bodies and improves overall health and well-being.
Can I come to Meditative Movement if I have physical limitations?
Yes. Meditative Movement is gentle and soul-centered—nothing we do should cause pain or strain. If a movement feels difficult or uncomfortable, you are encouraged to adjust it in a way that feels right for you. Your presence and intention matter far more than perfect form. All bodies, all abilities, all experiences are welcome.
What should I wear or bring to a Meditative Movement class?
Wear easy to move in clothing and comfortable, easy to move in shoes or non slip socks. No mat or special equipment is needed—just bring yourself, as you are.
Can I pick any topic I want for my Radiant Souls Celebration? What if I have a hard time defining what I want?
That's the beauty of hosting...yes, you can choose a topic that speaks to your heart and I will craft a custom event around it. You also get to choose which art activities you would like to use to deepen into your topic and I can help you decide that, as well.
And if you’re not sure exactly what you want or need, that’s okay too. Many people come to me with only an idea of what's bothering them: depression, anxiety, stress, insecurity/self doubt for example. We’ll talk, and together we’ll discover the theme that is seeking to emerge.
I also offer ready-made Radiant Souls events centered on universal emotional themes like forgiveness, setting boundaries, finding inner calm, and more. These are great options when you're unsure where to begin, but know you'd like to explore the healing arts.
Do you work with families, friends, or specific groups (like mothers, coworkers, teens)?
Absolutely. Radiant Souls Celebrations can be custom-created for any group: friends, families, coworkers, mothers and daughters, teens, or any group of people with shared intention. These events offer a beautiful way to address and heal tensions that often go unspoken or in the case of family members, are sometimes generations old. When we come together in a shared, authentic experience of heart, wisdom, clarity, compassion, and forgiveness can appear —sometimes in ways that talking alone could never bring forth.
How far in advance should I book a Radiant Souls Celebration? How many people can attend?
At-home healing parties require a minimum of three weeks advance notice prior to the desired date. I prefer five to eight people max. for an intimate healing experience. If your group is more people than that, please reach out and let's discuss further.
Does it cost anything to be a part of the Sacred Journey community?
No, this is a free community group and all are welcome. Occasionally there might be a small fee for workshops or materials, depending on the subject matter, speaker fees and location of the gathering. It is suggested that you join the email list for Sacred Journey, which is a separate email list from the Sacred Heart Healing email list, to stay informed of upcoming events and information (or join Sacred Journey NC Facebook group page.) Email Beth at sacredjourneync@gmail.com to join the email list.
Do I have to commit to attending Sacred Journey regularly if I join the email list or come to an event?
No commitment is ever required. Sacred Journey is here for everyone—from the curious soul wondering about meaningful end-of-life planning to those deeply committed to natural death and burial. There’s no need to attend monthly or even regularly. This is your community, and you’re free to participate in the ways that support you best, as frequently or as rarely as you choose.
